The 4th General Membership Meeting of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) Palawan Chapter was successfully held on February 28, 2025, at NCCC Mall Palawan. The event marked another milestone in the chapter’s continuing efforts to strengthen professional ties, promote technical excellence, and foster leadership within the mechanical engineering community.
The occasion was graced by distinguished guests: Engr. Archelle B. Baculi, PME, PSME National President; Engr. Jonald D. Jimenez, PME, PSME National Vice President for Luzon; and Engr. Charles Anthony Catarbas, PSME Deputy Vice President for MIMAROPA. Their presence underscored the unity and shared commitment of the national and regional organizations in advancing the profession across the country.
The event also featured the induction of MIMAROPA Cluster Officers, symbolizing a renewed dedication to leadership, collaboration, and service. Members in attendance earned 3 CPD points approved by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
A total of 62 members participated in the meeting, making it a productive and inspiring gathering that further strengthened the camaraderie and professional network of mechanical engineers in the region.
The Technical Upgrading for Professional Mechanical Engineers (PME) for the MIMAROPA Region was successfully held on May 19–21, 2025, at the Edward S. Hagedorn Coliseum, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The three-day event provided an opportunity for aspiring Professional Mechanical Engineers to advance their qualifications through technical evaluation and mentorship, reaffirming the commitment of PSME to uphold professional excellence across the region.
The distinguished panel members included Hon. Manuel L. Paulino, PME and Hon. Ramon F. Solis, PME, whose expertise and guidance ensured a rigorous and fair assessment process. Serving as mentors were Engr. Jose Florencio Losa, PME and Engr. Loreto Catalan, PME, who shared their invaluable insights and experiences to support the candidates’ professional development.
Hosted by the PSME Palawan Chapter, under the leadership of Engr. Neil Kenneth P. Guinto, the event successfully accommodated 13 candidates for the 2nd Oral Interview and 71 candidates for the 1st Oral Interview.
This milestone activity not only strengthened professional competency within the MIMAROPA Region but also fostered unity and collaboration among mechanical engineers dedicated to continuous learning and excellence in the field.
The 11th PSME Luzon Regional Conference (LRC) was successfully held on May 22–24, 2025, at the Citystate Asturias Hotel in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, hosted by the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) Palawan Chapter, chaired by Engr. Neil Kenneth P. Guinto.
This significant regional gathering brought together mechanical engineers, industry professionals, and leaders from across Luzon to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration within the profession.
The event was honored by the presence of esteemed guests from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) – Board of Mechanical Engineering, namely Hon. Rodulfo L. Tablante, PME (Chairman), Hon. Manuel L. Paulino, PME (1st Member), and Hon. Ramon F. Solis, PME (2nd Member).

A total of 277 delegates attended the conference, which featured a diverse program of technical sessions, networking opportunities, and professional development activities. Participants earned 15 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, with an additional 8 CPD points awarded for the Post-LRC sessions.

In line with the 11th PSME Luzon Regional Conference, a Special Oath-Taking Ceremony for newly licensed Mechanical Engineers and Certified Plant Mechanics was held on May 22, 2025, at Piscados Hall, Citystate Asturias Hotel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed members of the Professional Regulation Commission – Board of Mechanical Engineering, including Hon. Rodulfo L. Tablante, PME (Chairman), Hon. Manuel L. Paulino, PME (First Member), and Hon. Ramon F. Solis, PME (Second Member). Their presence emphasized the significance of professionalism, integrity, and continued excellence in the mechanical engineering field.
The Oath of Membership to the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME) was administered by PSME National President Engr. Archelle Baculi, welcoming the new engineers into the professional community.
A total of 13 newly licensed Mechanical Engineers and 2 newly certified Plant Mechanics took their oaths, marking the beginning of their journey as registered professionals dedicated to upholding the values and standards of the profession.
The ceremony highlighted not only the achievements of the new professionals but also the strong partnership between the PSME and the PRC Board of Mechanical Engineering in nurturing the next generation of Filipino engineers.
