PAcific Class

Welcome to Pacific Class

Dear Parents and Carers,

This is a short note to say welcome to Pacific class! We are excited to have you with us this year and are looking forward to developing and enhancing your children's current knowledge and skills as they move into Upper Key Stage Two.

We aim to challenge the children in all aspects of the curriculum, whilst they learn new skills and. In Year 5, we encourage independent enquiry and research, igniting children's natural curiosity and pushing them to explore further, helping them take pride in, and ownership of, their education.

The intention of this page is to offer a platform for adults to keep up to date with their child's learning.

There will be updates that will include pictures and short explanations about what children have learnt across the week.

We hope you enjoy exploring this page.

Regards,

Mrs Dallimore and Mrs Blower

Weekly updates

Term 6

Week 1: 6th June to 10th June

Year 5 have kicked off the term with some journal writing in English, working with coordinates in Maths and getting stuck into Olympic games, ready for the upcoming Sports' Day. Term 6 is always a busy one and we've got lots of exciting things coming up for the children in the next few weeks.

Week 2: 13th June to 17th June

It's been an intense week in PE as Year 5 have been taking part in qualifying races for Sports' Day. They've also been learning about diet and our digestive systems in Science so those super focused athletes among the year group will be looking to get those proteins in, in preparation for the big day!

Earth Day 2022

25.03.2022

We enjoyed inviting our parents in to see our work this week. It was lovely to see the children showing off their hard work. Thank you to everyone who came along.

We had a great week in Year 5, planning our version of 'The Malfeasance' poem and getting to grips with decimals. It has been wonderful to see everyone playing so well in the sunshine. Have a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all mums and all those who are like mums in the way they care for others.

11.03.2022

We had a lovely time, in the first week of term 4, making healthy seasonal food for DT and crafting story sacks for World Book Day. Our story sacks (for 'Room on the Broom', 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'The Day the Crayons Quit') contained wooden spoon puppets, masks, questions, props and backdrops. Working as part of a team also meant we could tick off one of our Citizenship Award goals. We loved developing new skills!
