Basics of Agricultural Science Appreciation and Application in a Philippine Setting

This course emphasizes the basic concepts and applications of selected divisions in Agriculture. The current subject offering has four major areas of concentration: crop production, livestock production, aquaculture, and food processing technology.
Interest in agriculture that involves studying the foundations of agronomy, food processing, livestock production, and aquaculture.
Interest in applying basic concepts in understanding Philippine agricultural setting. Integration of the Biology concepts learned in your early Biology years.
Interest and physically-fit to do agriculture-related fieldwork.
Willingness to spend extra time outside agriculture class.
Instruction Methods
Agriculture is taught through a combination of classroom and field activities that involve learnerning centered inquiry and project approach.
Learning management systems, i.e. KHub and Google Classroom, are used in remote learning.
Scientific literacy and science communication is highlighted through discussion and scientific report of key research papers related to the basic themes in agriculture.
Discussion of up to date issues on agriculture helps our students to have more critical approach on issues and understand the plight of the overworked, underpaid and unappreciated Filipino farmers.
