🐾 3rd Grade News - Week of September 8, 2025
💬 A Note from Your Teachers
Got proof? Our 3rd graders sure do! This past school week, students were able to back up their ideas with proof to show how mathematicians use various strategies to solve multiplication tasks on their Topic 1 test. In Reading, they also cited evidence and backed up their thinking with a clear explanation to the morals they noticed in our Module 1 Unit 1 Assessment of fiction texts. Expect graded assessments to come home via Friday Folders next week.
What's next in our learning? In math, we will begin Topic 2, which focuses on noticing and using patterns to solve multiplication equations. Additionally, we will continue to work at becoming "close readers" to write about learning challenges around the world but shift to reading nonfiction texts in unit 2. With regards to Social Studies, students will advance on in their studies of each of the 7 continents. To help them master the location of continents, oceans and compass rose, please encourage your young geographer to practice creating their World Free-hand Maps at home. Students will be challenged to show this mastery of the World Map in class on September 24th.
All in all, it was a good week full of joy in learning alongside one another, and we look forward to the next! As always, thank you for your continued support academically, socially, and emotionally from the homefront. Please reach out if questions arise!
