🐾 3rd Grade News - Friday, January 23rd
3rd Grade News!
Dear Third Grade Families,
Thank you so much for your continued support in practicing math facts, encouraging nightly reading, and being such a strong pillar for both teachers and students. Today we completed our Topic 12 math test: Introduction to Fractions. Please look for these graded assessments in next week's Friday Folder. We'll be continuing our fraction practice in Topic 13, and we couldn't do it without your incredible support.
In literacy, we are heading to Neverland as we dive into the adventures of Peter Pan and Wendy. The students are summarizing and noticing strong vocabulary in this classic work. In science, we are digging deep into fossils and how they came to be!
Finally, get ready to paint the town red, pink, and all things love! Our Valentine's party is just around the corner, and we're thrilled to host an enchanting Poetry Café for our third graders. Next week, we will share more information about how you may choose to help with this fun event.
Other News/Reminders:
OPTIONAL Spring conferences are coming up! Please find the form in today's Friday Folder. The form will let you know whether or not the classroom teacher feels a need to meet. A Note From PTO:
Teacher & Staff Snack Drive
Our teachers and staff do so much each day to support our students, and the PTO loves finding small ways throughout the year to show our appreciation for their hard work. One favorite tradition we're excited to continue is the staff snack table in the lounge—a spot they love to visit for a quick pick-me-up during the day.
To keep the snack table stocked with their favorite treats, we could use your help! We will be collecting snack donations January 7-30.
There are three easy ways for families to contribute:
Amazon Wish List:
Items can be sent directly to the PTO using our wish list:
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/HZJBFI1LIXEX?ref_=wl_share
Shop & Drop Off:
You're also welcome to purchase individually wrapped snacks (including dairy-free and gluten-free options), treats, and sparkling waters from your favorite grocery or big-box store and bring them to school.
Cash Donations:
Prefer to let us do the shopping? Cash donations are welcome! Please drop off cash in an envelope at the front desk, clearly labeled "For PTO Teacher Snacks."
If you have any questions, please email TimnathPTO@gmail.com.
Thank you for helping us show our appreciation and keep our staff fueled and feeling supported!

Enjoy your weekend!
With warm regards,
The Third Grade Teaching Team
