Galaxy Travelers’ Mileage Club
At Home
Friday, December 12 will be the last Mileage Club meeting for 2025. We encourage all students to continue to be healthy, active, and exercise. To encourage activities at home, students may earn miles towards the Mileage Club. Keep track of your miles and turn in the Mileage Marker at the end of the month. Mileage tokens can still be earned. Mileage Club will resume on Wednesday, March 25.
Below is a Mileage Equivalency Guide. Use this chart to convert minutes of activity into miles. After each activity, write down what activity you did on the Mileage Marker, for how long, and cross off the mile marker.
Mileage markers can be turned in at the end of each month. 20 miles is the maximum per month. Winter participation and earned tokens will be distributed to your classroom.
Have fun!

Keys to Success!!
Family Activity Ideas - Walk, hike, jog, bike, skate, jump rope, play tag, follow the leader, soccer, basketball and hopscotch.
Warm-up first – Walk a short distance while swinging and stretching the arms and legs. Include a few calisthenics like jumping jacks, jump and twist, ¼ knee bends and running in place.
Keep it short and sweet – Set a goal for each session that your child can attain without excessive effort. Increase the distance or time gradually.
Keep it fun – The goal is to help your child become more active, not become an Olympic athlete. Keep it fun so your child will want to do it again.
Mileage Equivalency Guide

If using a pedometer, 2,000
steps equal one mile. Please be
sure this is an additional mile of
walking, outside of your child’s
regular routine.
If your activity is not included,
find another of similar intensity
and use that figure.
