Calculus

It’s been said that change is the only true constant. Calculus helps make sense of change by grappling with questions that inspire thinkers from around the globe, across time, and in many disciplines. Can change occur in an instant? When is the next solar eclipse or the turning point for an economy?

Students can take Calculus for college credit through the AP Exam or Dual Enrollment through CU Succeed (MATH 1401 - Calculus 1 and MATH 2401 - Calculus 2).  

Calculus is a challenging college-level course that exposes students to brand new mathematical concepts. It's important to get help early and often, as this class moves very quickly and topics build on each other. Students should expect to do 30-60 minutes of homework every day.

Important dates (Calculus AB, Fall)

• August 18: CU Succeed registration opens

• September 20: CU Succeed registration deadline

• September 30: CU Succeed payment deadline

• October 26: CU Succeed drop deadline

• November 3: CU Succeed withdraw deadline

• November ??: Deadline to pay or opt out of the AP Calculus AB test (any changes after this date will incur a $40 fee)

• December 16-17: Calculus AB final

• May 10: AP Test!!!!

Help!!! I need help!!!

• Come to Office Hours in F201 on Odd Days! This is a great place to ask questions in a smaller and quieter environment. Bring a friend! There are usually a handful of students who you can collaborate with.

• Follow the steps on the I'm stuck! page

• Follow the directions on Google Classroom to access our textbook. I do not follow the textbook exactly, but it has more practice problems. It also helps to practice reading a textbook as you prepare to go to college.

• AP Classroom is the best resource you have for videos! They follow our order very closely, and there are practice problems that will give you immediate feedback.
