Welcome to my American history class! This first hexter we will be learning about the period in history known as Reconstruction. We will examine all that encompassed that particular period of history: how the president at the time tried to handle it, how Congress tried to handle it, how it led to the first impeachment of a president, what led to its failure and the rise of the Klan and Jim Crow. We will also look at how we still grapple with this legacy and how it affects our country today. It should be an interesting six weeks, and I look forward to it...see you all Tuesday!
