Current World Affairs
Welcome to my fourth hexter current events class! Officially, we call it "Current World Affairs" in order to make it sound very "global" and "worldly", but in the grand scheme of things, it is just a current events class. This course looks at politics, important news events of the day, and how we are receiving information, relaying it to others, and what it all means. When this course is in session, it means that for the six weeks, we all pay special attention to what is going on in the world and try to interpret it through all the noise. We keep a current events journal and do an end-of-the-hexter "Deep Dive." There is a lot on the docket right now...another looming government shutdown, the GOP presidential caucuses and primaries, the war in Ukraine, the war in Gaza, the problems with extreme weather, and what is going on with the BRONCOS?! Thank goodness that season is over with. Well, at least the Nuggets and Avs are doing great...so far. Besides the sports talk, I look forward to having you in class this hexter in this new year and to find out "what's new in the news."
