Hello Beattie 2nd graders! Get ready for a new PE focus. We will start this year learning about personal space.

Help everyone stay healthy with social distancing. Stand 6 feet from your family and keep your hands in your own personal space.
Game Set-Up
• Stand 6 feet across from a partner.
Game Instructions:
• The object of Balance Pose game is to win as many balancing matches as you can while holding different balance poses.
• On the start signal, choose a balance pose. Players hold the pose as long as they can. The winner is the one who balances the longest. It’s okay if you and your partner choose different poses to begin the game.
• For the next match, the player who wins gets to choose the pose that both players will hold while playing. Continue until you hear the stop signal.
Have fun!

Here are two quick game ideas:
1. A family game of tag is always a good way to get the heart rate up. Teach your family one of the many tag games that we played in PE class like letter tag, freeze tag, or toilet tag. If it gets too dark to play regular tag, pull out the flashlights and play flashlight tag.
2. Rock, paper, scissors is fun, but it is even more active if you play whole-body rock, paper, scissors. Jump up three times saying "rock, paper, scissor" and on "show" use your legs to play. Show rock by keeping your feet together. Show paper by spreading your feet out wide to the sides. Show scissors by spreading your feet apart in a forward and back position.

It is a wonderful story, fully narrated and illustrated about honesty. Enjoy!
