Artifact 1:
Category 1: Showed some of my best mathematical thinking
I chose Close To Four because I feel like I did it neatly. I took time to write it neatly. I knew that the numbers had to add up to 16 because there are 4 numbers being added together and then you divide by 4.
Artifact 2 :
Category 3: Learned From a Mistake
Sophie's Choice shows where I made a mistake and revised my thinking. I chose Sophie's choice because I didn't read the question carefully enough, so I made a mistake. At first, I put 43, because 43+1+1+ 1+1+1+ 1=49. 49 divided by 7=7. Then I realized every number had to be different, so I got 28 because 28+1+2+3+4+5+6=49. 49 divided by 7=7.

Category 4: Modeling Thinking
Travel Times shows where I used a tool or a model to support my thinking. I used a dot plot to represent the data points and the mean. I helped me realize the variability in the data.

Category 4:
Modeling Thinking
This piece shows where I used a tool or a model to support my thinking. I used a histogram and it helped me realize the amount of variability in the data set and how big some of these earthworms are.

Category 6: New Strategies
This piece shows how I discovered a new strategy to solve a problem. I found a strategy for finding the central tendency of a clustered data set. So, to find the central tendency, you look for the lowest data point and the highest data point. Next, you subtract the lowest number from the highest. In this case, it's 34-20. So 34-20=14. Next you divide that number by 2. So 14 divided by 2=7. Finally, you add that number to the lowest data point. So 20+7=27. So therefore, 27 is the central tendency of this data set(end of course.)
