Artifact 3:

Category 3: Learned from a mistake

This piece shows where I made a mistake and revised my thinking. I chose Room Sizes because I made a mistake. At first I thought I could choose any random numbers for the room sizes as long as they added up to 189. It turns out I was wrong. So then I divided 189 by 9(4+3+2) to get 21. Then I did 4x21=84ft squared(the kitchen size) then 3x21=63ft squared (the playroom size) then 2x21= 42ft squared(the dining room size)! To check it I did 84+63+42=189.

Category 4: Modeling Thinking

Are you ready for more? Shows where I used a model to support my thinking. I used a table because 1) It helps me and 2) It's much faster than a number line. On a number line you have to skip count one by one and on a table you can basically just jump into the action.
