Artifact 1
Category 1: Showed some of my best mathematical thinking
I chose the Inaba Decimal Place Value Puzzles because it shows that I can add decimals!
Artifact 2:
Category 1: Shows some of my best mathematical thinking
I chose the prime number sum because it shows my skill in explanation. It shows my thinking very well!

Category 3: Learned from a mistake
This piece shows where I made a mistake and revised my thinking. I chose Hurdles because it shows where I made a mistake and changed my work. On the first attempt I accidentally subtracted incorrectly. I put that 110-27.74=82.76. Then I said okay, there are 10 hurdles so I'll draw the lines and divide 82.76 by 10(the number of hurdles.) As you can see, I before subtracted incorrectly so that messed up the whole thing and after I noticed it I had to restart. So, on my second attempt I fixed my subtraction error(from 110-27.74(the two distances, one from the start to the first hurdle and the second distance, the distance between the last hurdle and the finish line)= 82.76 to 82.26) and drew TEN lines to represent the hurdles (So I divided 82.26 by 10 to get 8.226). So I started with 13.72(the area between the start and the first hurdle) and kept adding 8.226 to the number before it until I got to 14.02(the distance between the last hurdle and the finish line). Again, I noticed an error. I was supposed to divide 82.26 by NINE(the number of spaces between hurdles to get 9.14!)

Category 4: Model Thinking
The Tennis Court shows where I used a tool or model to support my thinking. (On page 3) I used a diagram to help me explain my thinking. In this math problem there is a tennis court painter, and he is painting the tennis court. The lines are 5cm thick. The court painter accidentally paints on top of the line(for example, if I was supposed to draw a line 1 inch thick at the halfway point on a 6" piece of paper I might accidentally start the line where the line I was supposed to draw would end.) And the questions are does the court increase or decrease? And how many square meters did the court change? (But I accidentally wrote how many centimeters it would change!)
