School Leadership Team (SLT)

The School Leadership Team (SLT) is a vital group within our school community. Comprising parents and staff the SLT collaboratively develops educational policies and ensures resources to support them. 

The SLT includes the principal, Parent Association/Parent-Teacher Association (PA/PTA) president, and United Federation of Teachers (UFT) chapter leader. Elected parents and staff members also serve on the SLT. The team’s bylaws specify the exact composition.

The team's responsibilities include developing the school’s Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP); providing ongoing evaluations of educational programs and their impact on student achievement; enhancing collaborative decision-making and fosters a positive school culture; and consultation prior to principal or assistant principal appointments.

SLTs use consensus-based decision-making, ensuring all members contribute to shaping final decisions.

The SLT meets monthly during the academic year. Meeting dates are typically scheduled in advance and communicated to all members and stakeholders.
