Writing Updates

ELA Test Prep

We are currently preparing for the New York State Tests using all that we have learned and practiced over the whole year! Students will be drawing on their knowledge of fiction (characters, setting, problem, solution) and nonfiction (main idea and details) to read test passages and answer both multiple choice and written questions.

Additionally, we will be spending time doing independent writing to keep up our love of writing!

How to Support this Work at Home

• Ask your children to write about their reading 2-3 nights per week (only a few minutes!)
• Encourage students to elaborate on their stories by including action, dialogue, setting details, and inner thinking.
