AI Student Opportunity (Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp)

CS4RI, The Mark Cuban Foundation, Partnership for Rhode Island, and Hasbro are partnering together to host the first Rhode Island AI Bootcamp! This Introduction to Artificial Intelligence is for underserved high school (9th-12th grade) students at no cost to them. The program does not have any prerequisites or require any prior experience with coding. Students with any level of interest in technology will walk away from this program with a greater understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The RI AI Bootcamp will be hosted at Hasbro and will be held for 5 hours each Saturday (11am-4pm CST) on Oct 23rd, Oct 30th, Nov 6th, and Nov 13th 2021. Propel is offering a fantastic opportunity for students to attend a boot camp during April vacation. The Museum's weekly virtual drop-in sessions for teens are once again running on Fridays from 3-5pm. The theme is "Paper Arts Social" -- all folks need to participate is something to draw with and wanting to connect with other artsy people. These are relaxed sessions where we provide some themes and prompts, it's more like a drawing club than a formal class. Please share with your students!

The Technology Department would like to inform you of the COVID-19 Malicious Cyber Actors briefing just released. This briefing outlines current assessment of malicious cyber actors increasingly will conduct ransomware attacks against schools during the 2020-21 school year. Such attacks probably will yield more disruption than past years, given schools’ reliance on online systems for virtual learning
