The following links provide resources/timelines/inventions/people that are related to each topic.
Create a poster infographic that gives the following information about your chosen engineering career pathway:
How this field started
A good title on your poster for this would be: How ____________ Began
Example: How Energy Engineering Began
Major developments in the past
A good title on your poster for this would be: Major Milestones in __________________
Example: Major Milestones in Aerospace Engineering
Major contributors (professionals) to this field
A good title on your poster for this would be: People Who Have Impacted ____________
Example: People Who Have Impacted Digital Engineering
What this field has done for modern society
A good title on your poster for this would be: ___________ Impact on Today's Society
Example: Agricultural Engineering's Impact on Today's Society
What advancements are developing for the future
A good title on your poster for this would be: Advancements in ___________
Example: Advancements in Biomedical Engineering
Potential future impact of these developments on society
A good title on your poster for this would be: Future Impact of _________________
Example: Future Impact of Civil Engineering
Career fields within this pathway, salary ranges, job responsibilities, and future growth opportunities of each
A good title on your poster for this would be: Career Fields Within _____________
Example: Career Fields Within Cybersecurity Engineering
Each poster must contain at least one graphic
You will work with a partner.
Each group will do a different pathway topic. First come first served.
Each partnership will split the responsibilities listed above equally between them.
Each person in the partnership will be responsible for including thorough information about their discussion points listed above.
Each partnership will create a two part infographic detailing their information.
The project should be cohesive in nature, theme, and design.
Each person in the partnership will be graded via the rubric on their own product.
Research will be completed digitally but the product cannot be digital.
25% Content- Was the content appropriate to the task, accurate, and supported?
Infographic demonstrates an understanding of the engineering career pathway
25% Process- Was the approach sound?
Student is able to conduct research and document information in a unique and individual way (not plagiarized)
Be able to work with others in a group setting to successfully complete a cohesive and quality product
25% Quality- Was the performance or product of high quality?
Documentation is legible and can be understood by any reader
Presentation is presented clearly and completely
25% Impact- Was the work effective?
Is the problem solved in the best way possible?
Students will document notes on each pathway to ensure understanding of each.
Draw an annotated sketch of your technology
Explain how this technology will come about
For example, is it an iteration or improvement on something that currently exists?
Do we currently have the technology to support it's development and if we don't, what can you explain about our needs for development in the future?
Justify the reasoning behind why this technology is needed.
This must be presented as the front cover of TIME magazine.
Written documentation (article, interview of hypothetical inventer) that describes:
The field of engineering
Why we need this technology
Why it is something that can only be developed in the future
How we will go about inventing/creating it

Project demonstrates an understanding of the a potential need in this engineering field in the future.
25% Process- Was the approach sound?
Student is able to conduct research and document information in a unique and individual way (not plagiarized)
Be able to successfully complete a cohesive and quality product with both drawn and written documentation.
25% Quality- Was the performance or product of high quality?
Sketch is legible and can be understood by any reader with annotations to help document the parts and their purposes.
Article is written clearly and includes information necessary for the project.
