A Functional Training Program is one where exercises are created to mirror an individual's everyday life demand. There are many factors in our environment that imposes poor Movement Patterns. These Movement Patterns will then turn into Pain, tightness, and overcompensations. Thus training to maximize movement quality will allow for results both in Fitness and experiencing a more elevated lifestyle.

Proper Frequency uses the movement screen in the Initial Consultation to design a Custom Program tailored to an individual's unique Biomechanics. The movement screen can reveal simple immobility's such as rounded shoulders, caused from excessive work at a desk; or adverse mobility issues like Hip impingement, caused from an unstable Hip Joint.

Functional Exercises of choice include Multi-Joint recruitment movements. Rarely do our lifestyles require a single muscle group or joint when executing daily movement demands. Such as running, biking, picking up a baby, or even sleeping properly. 

 ie: Moving Furniture. One of the main areas of muscle recruitment that is commonly deactivated in a activity such as moving Furniture is Core Engagement. This is a #1 rule determining the success of all exercise execution in Proper Frequency's exercise selection.
