Sign the back of this advisement plan with a parent to have ready for your appointment
Sign up to put your name on the waitlist for an advisement appointment after Spring Break.

Updated Checklist for Summer/Fall 2024
Links and information are listed below in detail. Please read through all processes and procedures before completing. All students (new and returning) must complete all items on the checklist that apply.
Basic Steps to Apply
***ALL STUDENTS (new and returning DE students) Students must view the Online Information Session linked here.
Take and score 100% on the quiz to sign off on completing the online information session located at the very end of the video linked above. Students must use their microsoft login to access the quiz.
Determine if you are eligible to participate and if DE is the right fit for you
Research the college where you would like to Dual Enroll (see the list below of some options) and follow their requirements.
Apply to the college's Dual Enrollment program and submit all necessary required documents before the college's and Wheeler's deadline (see Wheeler's deadline below) *We will submit your transcript for you, but you must submit everything else the college requires. Wheeler does not apply to the college for you.
***ALL STUDENTS (new and returning DE students) Complete the Dual Enrollment Local School Agreement and Student Advisement Plan
Submit the COMPLETED and SIGNED Local School Agreement here
You will bring your Student Advisement Plan to your Advisement Meeting. Please have your parent complete their section before you bring the form to your Advisement Meeting.
***ALL STUDENTS (new and returning DE students) must sign up to attend an Advisement Meeting sign up here for an advisement session Viewing the Online Information Session, scoring 100 on the quiz, and uploading your Local School Agreement must be completed BEFORE your Advisement Meeting.
PLEASE SIGN UP FOR SPECIFIC GROUP TIMES IF YOU ARE TAKING DE MATH OR COMP SCI THROUGH GaTech OR COMP SCI THROUGH CHATT TECH ON MARCH 12 AND MARCH 14
PLEASE SIGN UP FOR SPECIFIC GROUP TIMES IF YOU ARE TAKING DE ECON, GOVERNMENT, OR NURSE AIDE THROUGH CHATT TECH ON FEB 27 OR 29 OR MARCH 19 OR 21ST.
***ALL STUDENTS (new and returning DE students) Complete the GaFutures Funding application (must be completed once a school year so returning students need to complete on for the 24-25 School Year) Be sure to choose Wheeler Senior High School as your school, NOT Wheeler County.
***ALL STUDENTS (new and returning DE students) Send Mrs. Turner/Ms. Nelson a copy of your college schedule for the next semester via email by May 1, 2024 so we can get your Wheeler schedule updated. Your schedule must show the days and times your classes meet.

Wheeler Dual Enrollment Deadlines
Please pay careful attention to our Wheeler deadlines as they are EARLIER than the individual colleges.
You MUST meet with a Wheeler DE counselor PRIOR to the dates listed below. We will NOT be able to meet with you after these dates due to other counseling responsibilities.
Spring 2024 Semester: October 14, 2023
Summer 2024 Semester: April 1, 2024
Fall 2024 Semester: April 1, 2024
STEPS TO PARTICIPATE IN DUAL ENROLLMENT
ALL Participating Dual Enrollment Students for the summer or fall of 2024 must be complete the steps on the checklist by their deadlines. Applications may need to be submitted earlier depending on the college application deadline.
Dual Enrollment, by its nature, places much responsibility on the student rather than the parent. Therefore, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to ensure that all steps are followed. In order to apply for Dual Enrollment, you (the student) must complete ALL of the steps listed on the checklist.

CCSD students who wish to receive credit on their high school transcript for a dual enrollment class must have an approved application on file with the school in order for the credit to be accepted onto the high school transcript.
