Interested in Participating in Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment (DE), by its nature, places much responsibility on the student rather than the parent. Therefore, it is the STUDENT'S responsibility to ensure that all steps are followed. In order to apply for Dual Enrollment, you (the student) must complete ALL of the steps listed on the checklist.
Dual Enrollment for Spring 2026 is now closed.
Please check back here in February when the application will open for Summer/Fall 2026 classes.
Important Reminders
Dual Enrollment is best suited for students who are proactive, organized, and responsible. See this list of Pros & Cons of Dual Enrollment for more information to determine if DE is suitable for you.
Students MUST have reliable transportation to participate in Dual Enrollment because they cannot be on Wheeler's campus when they have a Dual Enrollment class on their Wheeler schedule, even if it is an online DE class. The ONLY exception to this is the DE Patient Care class that is here on Wheeler's campus with Ms. Phillips.
ALL participating Dual Enrollment Students (new and returning) for the summer/fall 2026 semester must be complete the steps on Wheeler's checklist (linked below) by their deadlines. College applications for their Dual Enrollment program (particularly for summer DE classes) may need to be submitted earlier so please check your college's deadlines and plan accordingly!
Be sure you are completing the college’s Dual Enrollment application, not their regular admissions application - there may be a checkbox you have to mark on the application to say you are a DE student. Your acceptance email should mention Dual Enrollment in it. If it doesn’t, please contact your college immediately to find out how to correct this.
Email both Ms. Nelson and Mrs. Christmas with any questions/concerns and be sure to "Reply All" if one of us emails you. holly.nelson1@cobbk12.org jari.christmas@cobbk12.org
Starting Summer 2025 - ECON 1101 is the only DE Econ class that will meet graduation requirements. Chatt Tech & KSU will be offering this class, however KSU's will only be available as an eCore class. It's important to note that eCore classes are different from regular online classes at KSU and some colleges won't accept eCore credits. You need to check with the college you want to attend to determine if they will accept eCore.
Pro-tip: Start on the steps EARLY! There are several steps that have to completed for us and the college. This is not something you can do at the last minute! Complete the initial steps in our checklist and then use the appropriate link in the DE checklist below to schedule your DE Advisement with us. Remember, we will not meet with you if you haven't completed all the steps in the DE Checklist that are due "Before Wheeler Advisement Meeting".
You MUST use the link in the DE Checklist to request your Dual Enrollment Advisement meeting with us (it will take you to a Dual Enrollment Advisement Meeting Request Form). DO NOT use the counseling meeting request link on our website to schedule your DE Advisement. It will be denied.

Please download the checklist and read through all processes and procedures on checklist before completing. All students (new and returning) must complete all items on the checklist that apply to them each semester to participate in Dual Enrollment.
**Please pay careful attention to our Wheeler deadlines as listed below and the individual college's DE application deadline that's listed on the college's website as they are not the same. Some college deadlines are earlier than our Wheeler deadlines.**
You MUST meet with a Wheeler DE counselor for your Advisement session PRIOR to the dates listed below. We will NOT be able to meet with you after these dates due to other counseling responsibilities.
