Current Cultural Climate and Spiritual Warfare

  1. Video: Father Casey Spiritual Battle #1 Conference 2013 (Click here for video)

  2. Father Larry Richards Chapter 8 page 147 of Be a Man! - We were created to be men who go beyond the limits that the world imposes on us. The desire comes from God Himself. He is always calling us to be more, and it is He who gives you the strength for this. Isaiah 40:31 "They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

  3. Genesis 3:16, 1 Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 5:23 - Help us understand that one of the roles of men have been given to them by God is to be the spiritual leaders of their families.

  4. How do we do this and join the battle?

a) Be a servant to your family, set by example, be a prayer warrior, lead them in prayer time, and not just at dinner.

b) Be a man of sacrifice! If married, give your life to your family first and foremost.

c) Be a leader in the bedroom. Learn the teachings of the Church on birth control, abortion, pre-marital sex etc. When understood, the teachings are set up to help us love one another better and protect us from hurting one another, to promote respect and dignity for our wives and the women of the world.

d) Be responsible for our own actions, and do not pass the buck onto society, your past, your family dynamics or your boss or profession, we are where we are because of our decisions that we have made.

e) Turn your life over to Christ, make the commitment. Jesus will deliver us from ourselves, and help you become the man you are supposed to be, but we need to "sell out" to Jesus.

f) Acknowledge that suffering sometimes need to be accepted for a greater good, learn humility.

Questions for Reflection:

  1. When people see you, do they see Jesus Christ?

  2. We created this group for fellowship, can you ask or find someone to help you challenge yourself to engage in the battle and be the best version of yourself?

  3. What keeps you from being the man God wants you to be?
