Those who participate in the 2021 auditions and are selected as a Performer for the MACSA Music Fest Performances:
Must be available for any recital scheduled at the Tobin Center (October 23 or 24) OR the McNay Art Museum (November 14).
Those who originally signed up to audition in 2020 and have been guaranteed Performer spots for the MACSA Music Fest Performances:
Must be available for any recital scheduled at the Tobin Center (October 23 or 24).
Repertoire Requirements
Both pieces must be performed on the same instrument. [Note for vocalists/pianists - Vocalists may opt to accompany themselves while singing but will only be judged on singing ability.]
Each piece must be at least 16 measures in length, excluding repeated sections.
Music must be performed by memory for both the Audition and the MACSA Music Fest event at the Tobin Center.
Music selected must be original, not arranged, with the exception of hymns, pop music, and ensembles.
For multi-movement pieces, each movement is considered a separate piece. (For example, a dance from a Bach suite is considered one piece; a movement of a sonata or sonatina is considered one piece.)
Acoustic Performances Only - Microphones will be provided for vocalists and instrumentalists at the actual event to be held at the Tobin Center.
