Protracted procreative preparedness pliantropy posturing

Pliantropy philanthropy procreative preparedness (PPPP) (or pliantropy for short) is adoption of a lifestyle that creates an illusion of youthfulness and readiness for reproductive function engagement. It is an effective strategy to counter antagonistic pleiotropy a hypothesis which states that while neuro-endocrine transformation from childhood to adolescence that prepare the individual to succeed with the primary task of Raison d'être of species continuation through reproduction make a U-turn and get replaced by a neuro-endocrine milieu popularly called senescence that leads to debilitation asthenia and demise of the organism to permit the allocation of the natural resources from grandparents and parents to the children and grandchildren. This is the natures strategy to conserve resources and sustain species in a balanced manner. The changes of oxidative insults, inflammaging that stems from oxidative insult produced cell death, telomerase decline, replicative aberrations, neuron depletion, endocrine attrition, defective intercellular communication that are viewed as the processes that underlie senescence and demise of organism can all be put under the umbrella of antagonistic pleiotropy and that makes pliantropy the antonym of pleantropy.

Observation that permit conclusions that pliantropy effectively negates pleiotropy for a decade or two comes from the following observations.

1. Members of a couple who continue to be regularly sexually active past middle age tend to look attractive and are evaluated at least a decade younger than their real age and that youthful and attractive appearance with greater sex appeal has been linked with delayed senescence and longevity such that pleiotropy is effective tool for longevity and debility abbreviation.

2. There is a correlation between preservation of a high level of libido with the retardation of endocrine function attrition past the reproductive periods.

3. Physiological effects of inflammaging brings about changes that have a close parallel to degonadization namely neutering (castration) in male and spaying (ovarian involution as noted in menopause) such that a significant fraction of the harm from oxidative insult and inflammaging is mediated through removal of reproductive capacity retaining which would mitigate against the debility and death inflicting effect of inflammaging.

4. Observations from the blue zomes with people remaining physically active engaged in producing food for the family and remaining sexually active until tenth decade of life permits a conclusion that longevity is promoted by remaining in a youthful or procreative mindset, physical activity pattern and staying engaged in others while pursuing common communal interests as summarized in the concept Ikigai.

5. The best explanation for the wisdom contained in the axiom that you are only as old as you think can be best understood that the youthful mindset and the ensuing neuro-endocrine behaviour of the body would permit retention of youthfulness for longer than acquiring a mindset of having retired and having ended the purpose of life and that no purpose of life remains which fosters the pleiotropy to take hold and inflict early death as is noted with those with depression.

Progressive Procreative period management has been argued to underlie aging and death in Sky Vision Documentary Live Long, Live Wild The Secret to a Long Life Professor Tom Kirkwood a Researchers of Institute of health and aging, Biogerontology department of Gerontology School of Clinical Medical Sciences UK., argues that very vulnerable small animals like shrews, exposed to numerous threats and predators must reproduce shortly after birth upon acquiring sexual maturity at high speed. A blend of natural selection and adaptation for species survival comes into play. These hypotheses can be established without solid evidentiary support because maladaptive courses are manifestly untenable and a species with high vulnerability would go extinct without quick reproduction. Being at the bottom of food chain increases vulnerability. Through reliance on their sophisticated brain and tool usage humans have managed to manipulate the ecosystems to place themselves at the top of the food chain which has and would produce catastrophic consequences for all species including humans themselves unless humans take steps to halt the extinctions and their own extinction. That is how serious the crisis human manipulation of ecology has produced.

A natural lifespan of over 50 years or possibly 80-90 years works in favour of humans. Dan Buttner argues that humans are losing out some 10-12 years of life through poor lifestyle choices already. This gap is going to be doubled to 20-30 years by the full impact of climate change so humans need to adapt to the climate. The rule of high vulnerability dictates a quick and rapid reproduction for that species such that shrews with life span is shorter than 18 months must reproduce quickly after birth as the. Insects with life span of 48 hours have barely few hours after birth to reproduce. Long lived large mammals like elephants can afford to have few offspring and acquire sexual maturity after couple of decades from birth. This lag of procreative period which is far removed from the time of birth must be accompanied by slower aging and that extrapolates to a longer life even after the cessation of the procreative period, even though the aging rate does accelerate somewhat after the end of procreative period. With a life expectancy of 70-80 years, low vulnerability due to few predators elephants and modern humans have the luxury to delay their procreative period after age 20. The litter size of one or two is also permissible because of low vulnerability. This also permits a protracted childhood which makes socialization a necessity as well.

Dr. Donna Skeleton from University of Manchester UK, is noted to remark in that documentary that animals who reproduce young and do so at high rates tend to be short lived and that delaying the reproductive period is linked to longer life span, which can be seen as a natural necessity or the species would go extinct. Women who delay their childbearing tend to live longer. A large adult size which would take long time to acquire also necessitates a longer life.

Caloric restraint during adolescence tends to delay procreative period and the life expectancy. We are setting up teenagers to suffer obesity, diabetes, hypertension etc., through poor feeding styles. That would now start to shorten their life spans. The rate of free radical inflicted damage remains low for at last several years after the end of the procreative period. That is likely due to the robust neuro-endocrine mechanisms operational in the young adults engaged in reproduction to continue the species. Few years or decades after the end of procreational period alone does the rate of oxidative damage pick speed as the protective neuropeptide and endocrine milieus vanishes.

To permit acquisition of a very large adult size cell mitosis precision must be maintained for several decades which insures restricted telomere fraying. Larger species also have the luxury of slower metabolic rates that emit free radicals at a slower rate and this is dampened by procreative behaviour. Large size permits slower metabolic rate because less heat is needed for thermostasis as the surface area is proportionately smaller with larger animals. Despite high metabolic rate the long-lived birds manage to escape aging and death by keeping the free radical insult under strict control. This has been assumed to be due to error free operation in their mitochondria. Possibly the neuroendocrine milieu of mammals who are still engaged in procreation is conducive to slower aging and longevity by a dampening of the free radical insult. Cerebral integrity and efficiency of cognitive operation seems to operate as an independent determinant of longevity and decelerated aging. That makes neuro-sentry an effective anti-aging tool or strategy. Sustained procreative behaviour as marked by a high orgasm rate appears to promote neuro-sentry. Mitotic telomere integrity helps with longevity.

Professor Dr. Michael Fusel of Michigan State university in this documentary is said to argue that immortalization or ageing deceleration is possible through boosting mitotic telomere integrity via telomerase operation. Longevity of lobsters is linked to high levels of telomerase. Viewing aging as the poisoning of the body through a diffuse neoplastic diathesis whereby no cancer pathology holds root therefore not detected at autopsy does proceed because of mitotic aberrations permitted by insufficient telomerase protection.

Lethal effects of chronic anxiety state or chronic un-remedied stress are seriously underestimated. In the antagonistic pleiotropy hypothesis context procreation and orgasming are potent stress busters. Orgasms are natural destressor because of natures agenda to keep the procreating organisms intact. In procreative preparedness pliantropy posturing without actually procreating the organism adopt that posture as if they are actively reproducing to trigger the same neuroendocrine responses that would proceed if reproduction were taking place. Organisms engaged in procreation would occupy their waking hours in fitness promotion, mating dances and food procurement as well to raise the family so these behaviours count as procreative preparedness pliantropy posturing as well.

Grasping pliantropy as mother Nature’s grace. While there takes place no such dialogue between an individual of human species and the Nature but something akin to that does happen for real via the habits of the person and the neuro-endocrine milieu. In its grace Mother Nature would give you up to two decades of healthy fun filled existence if own end of sincerely working to raise a family is upheld and that is what in nutshell pliantropy means. Direct evidence exists that regular experiencing of high frequency orgasms helps maintain high testosterone and DHEA (another androgen hormone) levels among men as well as women. Testosterone fights aging by retaining muscle mass and there is medical evidence linking high testosterone level with muscle mass or prevention of senile sarcopenia which helps speed up death. That shows that continued experiencing of orgasms slows down aging and delays death and that is the essence of procreative preparedness pliantropy posturing.

It would help the operation of pliantropy by using the analogy of these physiological proved facts by concocting a dialogue as would happen in a sitcom. Comedian Jerry Springer has used cartoons of two of his body parts sitting on his shoulders and continuing an argument. So, the way to grasp pliantropy which means by remaining engaged in regular sex and other activities that would deemed relevant to child raising one would successfully slow down the aging process, escape the cluster of conditions called Old-age Related Cumulative Inflammaging Driven Syndromes (ORCHIDS), and delay death. The beauty of delaying death is that it adds quality to those added years or help attain that has been acronymed into Independent Disability-Evasive Active Longevity (IDEAL).

The theme of dialogue between Mother Nature and a person wishing to continue to enjoy youth and freedom from ORCHIDS while delaying death would go something along the line that the man negotiates with Mother Nature to not kill him via infliction of these various disease of old age and not curse him with sarcopenia that can cause him to be wheelchair bound or bed-ridden. And the argument offered to Mother Nature would be that the person is still engaged in these five species propagation behaviours or family raising promises namely - 1) regular and ongoing mate scanning done through viewing potential mates and engaging in the mating dancing, 2) frequent coital encounters 3) nest building or building a home, 4) growing food for the children to feed the family and which is his reason to wake up each morning which is contained in the doctrine of Ikigai; and 5) learning new facts to stay abreast of the information necessary for successful family raising which might including seeking advice from elders.

While each one of these activities does really operate in the body through neuro-sentry, endocrine changes, improved intercellular communications but that would be hard for non-professionals to grasp who must be content with the fact that through such a successful negotiation Mother Nature does really slow down its wrath of inflicting medical conditions, sarcopenia, debility and early death so the wishes sought do get granted if the promises made are honestly honored and put into practice.

What is most remarkable here is that these promises used in the negotiation with Mother Nature do actually work in real life through the various neuro-endocrine processes details of which are still being worked out but should not concern people not in the profession of aging research who can still benefit from them by believing them to be true because they are true. A quick look at the nine or ten hallmark habits of the people of the five known Blue Zome noted to escape the ORCHIDS and enjoy longevity by a high prevalence of centenarians would reveal that they closely parallel the propagation behaviours (SPB) which can be easily understood to have been fostered in the natural selection because the behaviour in the opposite direction would cause species extinction so the very fact of colossal and actually now a problematic procreative success of humans as species is an undeniable truth.

Practicing of the five species propagation behaviours (SPB) or family raising promises namely

SPB # 1. Regular and ongoing mate scanning done through viewing potential mates and engaging in the mating dancing,

SPB # 2. Frequent coital encounters and frequent orgasms.

SPB # 3. Nest building or building a home,

SPB # 4. Growing food for the children to feed the family and which is his reason to wake up each morning which is contained in the doctrine of Ikigai; and

SPB # 5. Learning new facts to stay abreast of the information necessary for successful family raising which might including seeking advice from elders.

SPB # 1. Regular and ongoing mate scanning done through viewing potential mates and engaging in the mating dancing, can be practiced through retaining a high libido and continued interests in the members of the complementary gender (unless there is a gender preference divergent from the heterosexual one). This means that spouses must encourage each other to enjoy the attractiveness of potential mates outside the marriage and even permit some flirting and exploration and stretching it to swinging if that is consensually permissible. The second element is that of regular dancing. This habit of aboriginal tribes makes is clear that dancing for mate seduction is an evolutionary habit and should be practice for fitness and longevity. That makes dancing a superior approach to fitness than going to gym and walking on treadmill. Even viewing attractive women on the TV esp. if they are dancing is a healthy thing for men to do and the converse true for women.

SPB # 2. Frequent coital encounters and frequent orgasms. While the thrust of discussion here might seem to be on self induced orgasms via sigogem, there are additional elements to speak of. There are only minor benefits of sigogem over coitus when it comes to experiencing orgasms with very comparable neuroendocrine aftermath. While coital orgasms might be superior for some the sigogem type might be better for others. It seems logical to presume (something potentially provable with suitable studies) that for majority of women orgasms obtained non-coitally are superior and more desirable. Health benefit come also from cuddling, massing or just touching the potential or actual mates and not limited to orgasms. Entire gamut of sexuality falls into this section or habit. What requires underlining is that women who are content and comfortable with their own sexuality through sigogem are more likely to partake in and enjoy the coital encounters and coital orgasms.

SPB # 3. Nest building or building a home. A look at the salient characteristics of the long live people of Blue Zomes would show that the habit of staying busy all day long building the home that is inviting to the children is a life prolonging activity. This explains the benefits of manipulative activities like doing dishes and the fact of women who take the route of being home makers or stay at home mothers find higher contentment with their lives and are observed to be happier and healthier. The negative health impact of retirement is related to the sudden wasteful inactivity that corrodes these people who succumb to diseases. The highly active lifestyle of the Blue Zome residents shows that not having wasteful lethargic hours in the day is conducive to better fitness and longevity while mindless TV viewing is noted to have the opposite effect. The physical effort involved here and in the next habit of food growing are what amounts to exercise in the fitness strategies that help delay death.

SPB # 4. Growing food for the children to feed the family. A curious observation is that all the residents of Blue Zomes spend most of their waking hours growing food for the family. While it imposes a physically active healthy lifestyle and precludes the sedentary desktop type job in an office tower in the downtown of a metropolis there is something more to raising own food. There are psychological gains to be had from watching the crops, chicken or livestock grown in front of you. That satisfies a primary drive of humans to watch things grow as result of their own effort. Home grown food is going to be tastier, fresher and free of preservatives, pesticides, bactericidals etc. The fact of contact with soil bacteria is linked to superior intelligence and there might be other benefits to gardening and raising own food.

SPB # 5. Learning new facts. Staying mentally active and continually learning novel facts operates as a disability avoiding and longevity promotion strategy. One manifest benefit of reading regularly is to stay up to date with the health and fitness facts. There is a distinct dementia averting effect of over-learning so it makes sense to learn additional stuff to expose the brain to copious amount of information just for challenging the brain. Delaying of dementia helps escape some of the ORCHIDS and does delay death. There are distinct benefits of neuro-sentry. What needs emphasis here is that neuro-sentry is a massive undertaking and difficult to succeed with if there is stress from poor sex life, poor housing and poor nutrition hence it is the last item in the list of five SPBs. But conversely arguing if there is poor cognitive operation and information paucity as in illiteracy the above four habits would not be succeeded with. Thus, only a comprehensive approach would be effective in disease prevention and premature death avoidance. It can be noted that a diligent student who begins to study in a post-secondary institute is likely engaged in all these five PSBs. This aligns with the observation that having acquired a college diploma or a university degree tends to add some 7 to 10 years of life span, such that one can view post secondary education as a way to acquire pleantropy.
