Are there ways that a student can have her gifts acknowledged in class?
Could one of my classes give of its time or resources to bless others in some way?
I often think of learning as an individual affair: "I got an A-; she got a B." But how could I get my students to give help to and receive help from one another?
Perhaps for devotions, students could write notes of encouragement to others (in the class or elsewhere in the school) "giving" praise for gifts that are recognized by others.
Could I, as a teacher, model better receiving help?
Perhaps it might be fitting in my class or in a unit to sponsor a fundraising drive for a content-specific cause.
