Singing Assembly

At the Prince of Wales we love to sing and we recognise the positive impact this can have on children's mental health and understanding of the world around them.

Each week we have a whole school Singing Assembly children sing a range of songs from across musical genres. Children develop their understanding of song and voice and have a wonderful time singing!

Song of the Week!

Each week children learn a new song which they practice in class on a regular basis.

Singer of the Week!

Children are also introduced to a new singer each week, this is linked to a musical genres and important musical figures such as Influential black singers, rock, boy bands and Eurovision. You will find all these listed on the Singer of the Week page! We aim to cover a wide range of singers on an ambitious two year rolling programme.

Recently, children from The Prince of Wales featured on BBC Radio Solent Breakfast in Dorset as part of the King's Coronation Celebrations. We also sang as part of Dorchester Council's Coronation Celebration.

We have a weekly Singing Club which runs on a Thursday Lunch Time.
