Year 4 explored electrical circuits by working in pairs. They investigated how different components of the circuit interacted to power a lightbulb, learning about the roles each part plays in making the circuit work.
Last half term, our children were set the challenge of doing a deep dive into one the features of the USA and North AMerica that we had identified in our Geography learning.
They had free reign to choose thier own methods of presentation with this task.
Here is a selection of their work.
Well done everyone on completing your Learning Logs
At the end of February, children from both Year 4 classes visited Armley Leisure centre to take on 5 other school from across the city in the first round of the Skipping Schools Skipping Festival.
The children showed great teamwork, cooperation and resilience during the event and won a huge number of medals.
The performed fantastically well and won the event in dramatic style!
We are really looking forward to the City of Leeds finals day in June!
Well done Super Skippers!
On the veryt first day of the new term, children in 4DW went to visit Drax power station to kick start our new topic on electricity. As part of the visit, we learned how trees from Canada and the USA are transformed into the electrical energy we use in our homes and took a tour of the powerstation itself. It was a fascinating day out that has inspired to know more about electricity this half term!
