RE: How do some people talk to God?
As part of our art topic, we have began exploring printing. We used a range of different materials to create a number of repeated patterns. We finished off by exploring our class art gallery to celebrate each others achievements.
In maths we have begun looking at fractions. We have been focusing on halves, quarters and thirds. We have looked at this within shapes, but also amounts. We have recognised that we can use our knowledge of sharing to support finding fractions of amounts.
In DT we have completed our cakes topic. We worked really well in teams to measure the ingredients accurately to produce our cakes. We have then carefully thought about a design for a face and used a variety of toppings to bring our designs to life.
We have had a fantastic workshop with Northern Arts this half term. The children really embraces becoming different animals and moving around in different ways.
In DT we have created moving pictures. We looked and and spoke about moving part mechanisms and created designed that incorportated a slider mechanism. We cut out and painted our background and then cut out our moving element to add to the pictures. They all turned out fantastic!
We have continued our learning about the process of printing. We tried our using cardboard this week and designed and practiced the process in our books. Focusing on the colours we would use and challenged ourselves to get our designs to work as a pattern.
