Our science topic this half term is plants and we have been planting some of our own. We have placed these in different places to test how well a plant could grow without certain elements they need to help them thrive!
We have had a fab morning with skipping schools! We all tried extrememly hard and really put our skills to the test! We are looking forward to lots of practice before some of head to skipping festival in July!
Oh no! Mrs Dickson is lost in Pudsey! We have worked hard practicing our mapping skills to help her get back to school safely. It was lucky we had just done this walk for our church visit and took so photos, so we knew what to look out for along her route! We have used a digi map to add a route and some key places on and then had a go at drawing our own maps!
In maths we have been looking at measurement this half term. We have been looking at length and all measured our height against the door and will measure ourselves again at the end of the year! We have also been thinking about how we measure mass and using scales to measure some items around the classroom. Maybe you have some scales at home and you could practice weighing some different items around your home?
As part of our science learning, we have dissected some seeds. We soaked the beans in water and then rubbed them between out fingers. We were able to open them up to identify the seed coat, food store and baby plant inside.
During some more of our learning about plants, we thought about the differnet parts of a plant. We used different art materials to make our very own flowers and added labels of the different parts on them. They looked amazing!
In maths we have been continuing our measurement learning. We have moved onto working with ML and L. We have had a go at measuring volume and capacity using different sized cups and jugs.
We had a fantastic visit to Pudsey Parish Church this half term. We learnt all about the Easter story, by exploring the different parts in different areas of the church. We collected different stamps for our passports and items that would help us to remember the story to share with others.
