If a VirtualSpeech account is created for you, sign in through the online portal, using your browser of choice, to verify your account exists. If you are having issues logging into your account, please contact the lab at ZarbSkillsLab@Hofstra.edu for assistance.
To sign into your account on the VR headset, you will simply require your email address associated with your account, and a special VR code provided to you by the lab. Follow the instructions provided in this article and onward. If you do not have this code, please ask a lab assistant. Please note that these instructions apply to in-lab VR usage. If you would like to access VirtualSpeech on your personal VR Headset device, please ask a lab assistant or director for help.
Upon the completion of any exercise, VirtualSpeech generates a feedback report which generously details all aspects of your performance. This includes (but is not limited to) quantitative metrics on speaking pace, listenability, body language, content, and filler words. A feedback report also contains a detailed summary, that highlights specifics of your performance and suggestions on how to improve.
See Speech Analysis and Feedback from the official VirtualSpeech site.
After your feedback report has been generated, you may save it to view at any time past your session. You may access the report as a PDF document, as well as view the transcript, and replay the performance recording.
See Save Speeches and Roleplays from the official VirtualSpeech site.
If you do not have a personal VirtualSpeech account, and you are using an account provided to you by the lab instead, you may send the feedback report to an adminstrative account. A lab assistant will access your feedback from there, and ensure you recieve a copy.
See Share Sessions With Your Admin from the official VirtualSpeech Site.
VirtualSpeech allows you to upload documents such as slide decks, notes, resumes, and more to be utilized in its application. You may use these files as supplements to your training session.
