High School Mathematics Essential Skills

In PPS, Essential Skills work sample prompts must meet certain guidelines for difficulty and content and must be secure. Thus, work sample prompts that can be used for students to demonstrate proficiency in the Essential Skill Apply Mathematics are kept on a secure website. To gain access to this site, teachers must be trained on the current ODE Problem Solving Scoring guide as well as the PPS requirements for reporting scores. Practice work samples on this site are available to the public, therefore they cannot be used to meet Essential Skills. However, they are a good practice opportunity for students and can be used to help students meet the Local Performance Assessment requirement and for teachers to practice using the scoring guide.
