Smarter Balanced State Testing

Starting Spring of 2015, students in Oregon will take the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA). This assessment is given to all 3rd-8th grade students and 11th grade students. Each of the these years, students will take a Computer-Adaptive Test (CAT) and a Performance Task (PT) in both Mathematics and English Language Arts.

Our previous test OAKS was also a Computer-Adaptive Test (CAT), but it was only multiple choice questions. This new test has many different types of questions. Watch the video at right to learn about the new types of questions.
