Marcy Sunnivagora (or better known at RGMS as “Mrs. S”) was born in Chicago, IL and still holds onto her identity as a Chicago Cubs fan. She attended the University of Illinois, receiving her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. After a few years of postgraduate service, Mrs. S attended Loyola University of Chicago to receive her Masters in Social Work, specializing in work with children and families. She later received her License of Clinical Social Work after moving to Oregon in 2010. Through her work, Mrs. S has been serving youth and families for over 15 years and has worked at RGMS since 2019. She believes strongly in supporting students’ success by helping them to utilize the strengths they already have. She also believes that positive and collaborative school/family partnerships enhance student achievement.
In her free time Mrs. S can often be found chasing around her toddler or playing cars with him. Whenever possible she partakes in any outdoor adventure possible which may include hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, or camping. She also loves to travel and appreciates the opportunity to learn about other countries and cultures.
