a socially constructed term that divides folx up based on their skin color and physical characteristics; not based on scientific fact and is not grounded in genetics.

your identity is what makes you, YOU (i.e. Family, neighborhood/community, school, friends, media you consume, food, clothes, etc).

a grouping of people who identify with each other on the basis of shared attributes that distinguish them from other groups such as a common set of traditions, ancestry, language, history, society, culture, nation, religion or social treatment within their residing area.

is personal prejudice and bias and the systemic misuse and abuse of power by institutions.

distribution of resources, power and opportunity in our society to the benefit of people who are white and the exclusion of people of color.

to be on the outside of the dominant culture and treated as if you are insignificant and inferior.

the capacity of expressing support of a group or the people in it. In other words, helping and thinking of others.

White Privilege means you actively benefit from the oppression of Black, Indigenous, People of color.

White people can have other marginalized parts of their identity,

BUT RACE is not one of them.

When white people ignore or don't acknowledge racial injustices and events

When a person wants to be a part of making things better and takes steps to do so.
