Morrison School Based Counseling

An alternative to seeking mental health support outside of the school, is to consider working with Arleta's school-based therapist through Morrison Child and Family Services. School-based therapists are more integrated into the school culture and they have the ability to hold individual sessions with students during their school day on campus. Currently, Morrison accepts OHP, Kaiser, Moda, and Providence insurances. If you would like to refer your child to the Morrison school-based therapist, please contact your grade-level school counselor.

A message from our Morrison School Based Therapist Alison Harriot...

"Hey, my name is Alison!

You may call me Mx. Harriot or Alison

I use they/them pronouns and I am a mental health therapist with Morrison Child and Family Services who is contracted to provide mental health and family therapy services to students enrolled at Arleta. I am a Registered Art Therapist Provisional (ATR-P) and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with a master’s degree in Art Therapy Counseling. My philosophy is that the client has the inherent tools and knowledge needed to overcome obstacles. I operate from a person-centered, strength-based, and culturally responsive place where the client’s culture and values are integrated (if desired). I take a systems lens and utilize CBT, art therapy, TF-CBT, and mindfulness tools when they fit for the individual. Art therapy is at the core of my approach and will be included in sessions. There is no expectation to be “good” at art, and art materials will be available during session.

If you would like to engage in therapy with me or someone in our clinic, please talk to your school counselor to begin the referral process.

I look forward to working with you!"
