• Challenger cleanable oil filters are an exact fit for most aircraft piston engines.  No special tools required.

• The medical grade, stainless steel mesh used in our filter is rated at 22 microns. 

• The primary purpose of the oil filter is to remove contaminants, oil sludge and other combustive particles.  We suggest having the old oil filter contents analyzed after every oil change.

• The thickness or viscosity of oil is directly affected by temperature. As the engine oil temperature increases there will be a proportional drop in oil pressure.

• Unlike paper disposable filters that are destroyed by water secretion, Challenger's oil filter use stainless steel mesh that is not affected by moisture.

• Tighten the oil filter by hand. Then secure the oil filter by setting torque wrench to 16-18 ft lbs.  DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN

• The filter element is replaced at 1250 hours or 5 years whichever comes first.

• Safety wire attachments 360 degrees.

• The continued air worthiness says replace upon condition. There is an extra gasket in every box.
