This section aims to breakdown the basics of the workload required for teaching in a block and London Campus.Â
The proposed format for block teaching would break down as follows:
In a single week there are 2x4 hour on campus sessions across 2 days plus an optional extra two hours of face to face time. This will be supplemented by online sessions where required.
On average a single module will last 4 -5 weeks, so the teaching for each module should be completed in a month. This will include the assessment for the module, so in that period it would be expected that feedback is also provided so that on completion of one module and starting another module, the student is able to understand how they can improve and progress into the next module.

Course teams will be empowered to schedule the teaching as best fits the needs of the topic, this includes organising staff workload so the team can make best use of their time. Timetabling will be signed off by an Academic Director to ensure it dovetails in with the whole campus operation. This will likely lead to staff being busier in some periods but then have much quieter weeks where they can focus on other activities (this could be scholarly activity, outreach sessions in schools, integrating with industry and so on, to be determined with the line manager).
