As a team we administer a few internal funding schemes, but your school will also have other amounts available, so please check with your Head of School in the first instance if none of the below are applicable.
This fund is to support attendance at academic conferences (ideally delivering a paper) or holding an exhibition for practice research. Colleagues can apply for a maximum of £1000 or £2000 depending on the conference/exhibition location. The most up to date version of the form is attached -- please complete this and send to cci-ri@port.ac.uk for consideration by the Research Leadership Committee. Please read the guidance at the beginning of the form before applying. Applicants are encouraged to submit their funding request at least 1 month to 6 weeks before the early bird (if any) registration deadline of the conference. Please get in touch with cci-ri@port.ac.uk for the most up to date application form for the Conference & Exhibition Support Fund.
This fund is to support the development of high-quality outputs ahead of the next REF. Colleagues can apply for up to £3000 to cover expenses associated with output production, but only one award can be made to each individual per year. Applicants need to be clear about the precise contribution(s) to REF2029 that the money will deliver, when the output(s) will be in the public domain (published or equivalent), and the scholarly significance, originality and rigour of the research. You must also have a clear, rigorous pathway to publication or dissemination (which may be more applicable to practice research) plans with deliverable deadlines. The most up to date version of the form and guidance is attached -- please complete this and send to cci-ri@port.ac.uk for consideration by the Research Leadership Committee. Please get in touch with cci-ri@port.ac.uk for the most up to date application form.
The purpose of this fund is to enable networking events at the University of Portsmouth or London Campus with external invitees, with a view to support the production of high-quality research outputs and high value external funding bids (especially with large consortia) ahead of REF2029. Colleagues can apply for up to £2000 to cover costs associated with networking events and these must be based around a theme which will attract the broadest range of internal and external attendees. Please get in touch with cci-ri@port.ac.uk for the most up to date application form.
This fund is to support the development of Impact Case Studies for the next REF. Please speak to the CCI Impact Leads, Marius Kwint and Laurel Forster, before making an application to this fund.
