Throughout the year we also run micro-clinics that will focus specifically on the type of content and evidence required to showcase Areas of Activity for [D1] Associate Fellow, [D2] Fellow and [D3] Senior Fellow submissions for both the written route and professional conversation.
Micro-clinics run every month and are either delivered online or face-to-face. Prior to attending a micro-clinic please ensure that you have completed and submitted your registration form.
Once you have attended an orientation event and micro-clinic, you will be given a boarding pass which will give you access to your mentor who will help guide you through the submission process and offer feedback on your drafts. Your boarding pass is valid for six months - if you do not submit a draft in that period you will be required to attend a second micro-clinic to revalidate your boarding pass. Draft feedback will not be provided until you have completed the compulsory elements of the APEX programme.
If you are considering the professional conversation route, following the micro-clinic you need to attend a Professional Conversation briefing meeting to be assigned to a cohort group.
Please note that:
(i) You must have attended an orientation event prior to attendance at a micro-clinic.
(ii) Attendance at a micro-clinic is a compulsory requirement of the APEX programme is required to gain mentoring support either on the written route or professional conversation.
(iii) You only need to attend one micro-clinic; please do not book for one than one session. Places on micro-clinics are capped to allow everyone to get involved in the workshop so booking additional sessions restricts the ability of colleagues to attend.
(iv) Once you have attended an orientation event and micro-clinic your boarding pass goes live and you are given access to mentoring support.
(v) You must attend a micro-clinic with 12 months of having attended an orientation event. If you do not attend within the 12 month period you will be asked to re-attend an orientation event.

Feedback from colleagues consistently indicates that finding the time and space to focus on writing their application is often a major hurdle to submission. Therefore, throughout the year, we run a number micro-retreats to help colleagues develop the case studies and reflective accounts required by the submission process. Facilitated by a member of the APEX team, the micro-retreats provide an opportunity to both reflect on the narrative development required for case studies and also to share experiences and progress with your peers.
Please note that you need to have attended a micro-clinic prior to attendance at a micro-retreat.
