Pub Crawls/Appros
What is a Pub Crawls/Appro
Pub-crawls, or better known as approt, is an event where you go through places marked in pub-crawl map. Marked places are checkpoints and they usually are different restaurants and pubs but can also be some kind of activity. You collect stamps from checkpoints to your pubcrawl pass. The number of needed stamps is always told beforehand. Getting enough stamps and returning filled pub-crawl pass, you’ll get a patch for your coveralls. Annual pub-crawls organized by Pore ry:
- Craft Beer Appro, where you get to try more special beers with a good price
- Mansku Marathon, which is close to Halloween has always a theme
- GastroAppro, which shows the best restaurants of the best in Helsinki, offering some good dishes with affordable prices
Sitz
What are Sitz?
Sitz are an academic dinner party, where you’ll enjoy a three-course meal, sing a lot of songs from the songbook (it’s included in the ticket price) and have a blast. Sitz are run by a toastmaster. There are some rules during sitz, which you can’t break. If you break these rules, the toastmaster can give you a sanction. The rules can be found from the first page of the songbook and they are told in the beginning of the sitz by the toastmaster (if needed). There is almost always a theme at the sitz, which means there are also a dress code. Usually, the dress code is coveralls + something with the theme. Annual sitz organized by Pore ry:
- Tutorsitz, which are for our new tutors of the year
- Freshers’ sitz, which are for our biggest sitz with 200 students
- Premium sitz, which are in December. Premium sitz has always a historical theme taking us 100 years back from now
During spring semester, there are more sitz with changing theme.
Pore Get Together
What are Pore Get Together nights?
These low-threshold events, known as Pore Get Together, are organized to foster a sense of community among Pore members. During these gatherings, we may visit a partner's location for engaging activities or even have badge sewing sessions in the Lounge, accompanied by some delightful treats. If you have an amazing idea for a theme that you'd like to see at a Pore Get Together, don't hesitate to send a message to the board
