Verbs
Goal: Students will learn about verbs. Students will be able to identify verbs, locate them in a sentence, and understand verbs in past, present, and future tenses.
You are about to watch several videos about VERBS. The videos will explain what a verb is, different examples of verbs, identifying nouns in sentences along with past present and future verbs. I have split the week up into days.
At the end of each days lesson is an assessment. Assessments can be found at school or on Google Docs.
Day 1: Verbs
Questions to ask after:
- What is a verb?
- Show me different action verbs with your body
- Name verbs and have your child act them out

Day 2: Verbs in sentences
Questions to ask your child:
- What is the job of the verb in a sentence?
- What question should you ask yourself to help identify a verb?
- Share a sentence and have your child find the verbs.

Day 3: Past, Present and Future
Questions to ask your child:
- What does past, present, and future verbs mean?
- What helps you identify a past verb? future verb? present verb?
- Share some sentences and ask your student to identify the verb and share if it is past, present or future
