What will I study?

As part of your core entitlement at PHS, all students follow a three-year course of Religious Studies beginning in Year 9.


Pupils continue to have one lesson of Religious Studies per week across Years 10 and 11. The KS4 syllabus continues directly from your studies in Year 9.


This qualification is in addition to students’ option choices and does not constitute one of your choices. Religious Studies is a compulsory element of the PHS curriculum.


How many pieces of coursework are required?

There is no coursework or controlled assessment.


How many examinations will I take?

The GCSE examination will involve two exams lasting 1hr 45mins at the end of Y11.
