Collaborative Leadership

vision

We believe in authentic collaboration grounded in trust and collegiality. We will maintain collaborative systems to effectively serve our community such as Small Learning Communities that help provide a more personalized education for each student, PACT, which has been pivotal in equipping teachers with socio-emotional support strategies, Governance, and SSPT. These systems problem solve and implement best practices to ensure our students and families have what they need to succeed. We will also examine and reflect upon areas needing improvement to ensure quality of service and to model lifelong learning practices.

School Climate advocates & the poly innovators

What is a School Climate Advocate?

School Climate Advocates work with both students and staff to help deescalate situations as well as create events and help bring a more positive school experience for everyone at the school setting. Working with potential student leaders known as the Innovators, we create events targeting issues that students may be facing as well as events that help raise school spirit and involvement. This in turn helps create a positive school culture and climate. To find out more about our work and upcoming events, click HERE.

poly innovators in action

Poly Innovators is a student-run group overseen by our School Climate Advocates, Carlos Trujillo and Pilly Placencia. The Innovators focus on collaboration and relationship-building among our school community to promote an overall positive climate. As they work together to host events for our school community, our Innovators are also building leadership and collaboration skills that are critical in the 21st century workplace. We are proud to have this group of students represent Poly High School!

Our continuous cycle of improvement

To bring programs and events that best reflect the needs of our stakeholders, the CSIT team meets every other week to engage in a cycle of improvement. It begins with developing a needs and assets assesment where we aim to capture at least 75% of every stakeholder group. Based on these results, we establish priorities for the school, align our budget to help meet these priorities, and engage in a problem solving process that includes creating new events, programs, or initiatives and/or partnership recruiting and management.
