Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Jacksonville State University in 2016. In 2023, I obtained a Master's degree in Instructional Technology and gifted certification at Kennesaw State University. The 2025-2026 school year will be my ninth year at Cherokee Elementary School and tenth year as an educator. I have experience teaching first, second, fourth, and fifth grade.
About Me:
I am so excited for another great year at Cherokee Elementary and happy to have the opportunity to teach second grade again. Seeing my students learn so much throughout the school year brings me joy. I love hands-on learning and plan to incorporate as much of it into our curriculum as possible! I promise to keep your children in a safe, clean, and happy learning environment!
I married my high school sweetheart, Andrew. We have one daughter, Kambrie, who has brought us so much joy! She is a spunky five-year-old who keeps us on our toes. We are big animal lovers and live on a farm with our horses, dogs, cats, goats, rabbits, and chickens. Outside work, I love spending time with my daughter, husband, family, and friends. I also love to travel and be outdoors! My favorite activities include kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, hiking, and horseback riding. I enjoy attending church, and my faith is a significant part of my life.
Philosophy:
One of my favorite quotes by George Evans is, “Every student can learn. Just not on the same day, or in the same way.” As an educator, I understand that all children have different needs and learning styles. I will always do my best to meet various accommodations for all my students. I will strive to create a learning environment that is positive, safe, and welcoming!
