About Me
My name is Anna Valentine. I am from Cedartown, GA. I graduated from Berry College in 2017. This will be my 9th year teaching and my fifth year at Cherokee. This is my first year teaching second grade at Cherokee. I have experience in 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade ELA, and 4th grade ELA and Math. I am married to Zach. He teaches at Cedartown Middle School. We have two daughters, Genevieve and Eloise. I am so excited for this year!
Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child is a capable and unique learner who deserves a safe, supportive, and engaging environment to grow. My classroom is a place where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and take ownership of their learning, while also learning how to be kind, respectful members of a community. Relationships are at the heart of everything I do. Building strong connections with my students helps them feel valued and seen, and it allows me to better understand their needs, interests, and strengths. I want my students to develop confidence in themselves, to persevere through challenges, and to find joy in learning.
