Meet Mrs. Tucker
I am Michelle Tucker, and I am pleased to admit that even as I begin my 30th year as an educator, I still love to teach! Over the last 29 years I have taught everything from preschool to fifth grade. I began my PSD experience at Northside Elementary where I taught general and special education for 15 years. I am very excited to be apart the ESOL team at Cherokee Elementary School!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, camping, painting, and running. My husband, David, and I have completed almost 20 full and half marathons together. We also enjoy traveling, especially to New York City, St. Petersburg Florida, and Washington state, where some of our children and grandchildren reside.
Teaching Philosophy
It is my belief that every student can learn and deserves to be given every opportunity to do so. I believe that a nurturing environment can provide the support each child needs to be successful. It is my desire to teach each student the way I wanted my own children to be taught – with patience, care and respect.
