Meet the Teacher

My name is Kristi Golden and I am an ESOL teacher at Cherokee Elementary School.  I have been teaching for 25 years in Polk County and have experience in elementary and middle school classrooms.  I am married to Tim Golden and we have three wonderful children and the sweetest granddaughter and grandson.  Our son, Frank, is an officer for the Rockmart City Police Department, our daughter, Anna, is also teaching at Cherokee Elementary, and Olivia will be in her third year of college.  Our sweet grandchildren, Genevieve, Elijah, and Eloise bring us so much joy!

PHILOSOPHY
My Philosophy of Education is that each child I teach should feel welcomed, safe, and loved in my classroom. I strive every day to make my students excited about their education and create a lifelong love of learning in them.  I want my students to love school, and I will work hard to instill in them the knowledge that I believe in them and the great things they can accomplish.
