See what we do!
2023-2024 School Year in Review
Back-to-School Social
The PEF hosts a back-to-school event where families can catch up with friends, meet each other for the first time, and celebrate the beginning of the school year.
The 2023 Family Social was held on the new playground! We had face painting, ice cream bars and lots of fun seeing our friends and meeting new ones.
Teacher Stipends
The PEF provides stipends to teachers for extra supplies, equipment, and project materials needed in their classrooms.
During the 2023-2024 school year, the PEF provided each classroom teacher with $1,000 and each specials teacher with $500.
Polaris Star Scholarships
The PEF created the Polaris Star Scholarship for emerging middle schoolers this year, recognizing 5th grade students who achieved outstanding performance at Polaris. The students wrote essays on the question "What experiences have you had at Polaris that have best prepared you for middle school?" , which were evaluated by Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais. Congratulations to: Pre'Yah Goodson, Matthew Mulvaney, Brian Kampayana, Jazmyn Mora, Miah Mugabo, Alex Rivera, Maddy Bilz, and Gio Amparo!
Picture Day!
The PEF organizes school pictures in the fall each year.
The 2023 school pictures were held in September with CLIX New England. 20% of the sales proceeds of picture packets went back to the school!
Family Nights
This year we hosted movie night at Chunky's. The PEF provided popcorn and drinks while everyone enjoyed "The Muppet Movie".
Parents need their "school friends", too! The PEF hosts evenings out for parents at local establishments, allowing parents meet outside of the school setting. In October, we sponsored a Parent Night at Bonfire.
Recess Revolution!
The PEF opened our new playground this year!
Working with Premier Park and Play (a NE playground design company) and our generous Board of Trustees, we cleaned up the school yard, improved drainage, and designed and purchased equipment, and installed new borders and bark!
Enrichment
The PEF organizes after-school enrichment activities during the year. Financial assistance is provided to families on an in-need basis to make sure that all students have the opportunity to participate regardless of the family ability to pay.
In 2023-2024, the PEF offered science with Unchartered Tutoring, art with Under the Moon Art Studio, and sports with USA Ninja and the McIntyre Ski School.
Beach Bash!
The PEF sponsors an all-school family dance in the spring that celebrates our school community and the great work students have done all year.
The 2024 dance theme was Beach Bash and was held in The Founder's Academy gymnasium. Families dressed in beachy attire to enjoy dancing, facepainting, food, and photo ops!
Teacher Appreciation
The PEF sponsors a catered lunch for staff and provides each classroom with funds for parents to use to gift teachers something special during Teacher Appreciation Week.
In 2024, the PEF we appreciated our teachers in May with a special lunch catered by Puritan Backroom, treats and pampering packages!
Spirit Wear
In 2024 the PEF offered Polaris branded Spirit Wear to families. A contest was held to come up with a design for our "Polaris Spirit" shirt. 4th grader Kairi won!
We also purchased additional classroom shirts in smaller sizes for each classroom.
Field Day
The PEF sponsors Field Day at the end of the school year.
In 2024, Field Day was held at Camp Carpenter in Manchester. The days' events included field games, line dancing and Capture the Flag, capped off with a popsicle at the end of the day!
Field Trips
The PEF provides funding for class field trips throughout the school year. Funds go toward admission prices, fees, bussing and other costs associated with the trips.
During the 2023-2024 school year, classrooms visited an apple orchard, the Great Bay Discovery Center, Lego Discovery Center, the Seacoast Science Center and more!
Thanks to all the parent volunteers who generously donate their time and skills to making things happen for Polaris students!
