Social Security System (SSS). Under Republic Act No. 8282, all employees hired by private companies must apply for Social Security System (SSS) membership. This system provides private employees and their families protection against disability, sickness, old age, death, or other such instances that could make them incapable of continuing their employment.
Apply at any SSS branch Office and submit the following:
NSO Birth Certificate (original and photocopies)
At least two government-issued IDs
You will be provided a document with the SSS number after submission. However, you should request a printed form if it is handwritten.

Please note the SSS number issued online is considered temporary. To make this permanent, please visit the SSS servicing branch and present a valid ID.
