To get started using your new Point laptop, follow the instructions below:
Change your computer password
System Preferences → Security & Privacy → General
Default is “changeme123”
Must contain at least 14 characters, 1 number, and 2 symbols
Plug in your accessories
Sign into your Google Account and change your Google Password
FOLLOW PROMPTS TO CONFIGURE 2-STEP VERIFICATION
Launch OpenVPN Connect and connect to VPN.
Enter point.openvpn.com and follow the prompts to sign in with Google.
Select the region closest to you.
Activate your Underwrite System Account
Sign in with Google
Scan the QR code with a 2 Factor Authentication app on your phone like Twilio Authy
Sign in to Slack by clicking on “Sign in with Google”
Sign in to Zoom by clicking on “Sign in with Google”
Enable Zoom screen-sharing
System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy → Screen Recording
Checkmark the box next to “zoom.us”
After you are all set up, general IT support is always available by email it@point.com, the Slack command /halp,
or by phone +1 (650) 451-9100.
