Your stories do need characters! We can create, edit, and view our characters on the characters page. You may access this page on your story's homepage – towards the middle of the screen, via the "Characters" button. Click that button, and it will take you to your characters page.
Once you reach the characters page, you may create and/or edit characters. Let's walk through character creation and editing now!
We currently support the following type of characters:
Standard female body (with 3 body type options)
Plus size female
Male sex (with body type options, including transgender)
Horses (select color of horse at character type selection)
Dogs
On this page, you will select a starting "actor" from the available options. Make this choice based off of the character type that you would like this character to be. You will not be able to change the character type once it is created. For example, if you select and create a character with the standard female body, you will not be able to change it to a plus size female body. You can edit their facial features, hair, outfit, and more, later.
Note: When creating horse characters, you will have to select the exact horse by color that you want. Horse color is not editable after.
When creating a new character, name the character what you would like to refer to them as in the script. You are able to change what their name displays as in the story later.
Creating and editing outfits are similar to that of characters. You may access this page on your story's homepage – towards the middle of the screen, via the "Outfits" button. Click that button, and it will take you to your story's outfit page.
Note: Both characters and outfits are exclusive to each story. Any characters or outfits you create will not be available across every story you have. In other words, if you create a character and/or outfit in one story, it will not be available in any other story, even if it is under the same account.
On the outfits page, you will see a list of all of the outfits you have created. It is important to note that outfits are not assigned to characters. Outfits can be worn by any character. However, there is an outfit always automatically created when a character is made. It will be named after their name in uppercase, following "_default". For example. "YOU_default". This default outfit is what your character will be automatically changed into until you change them into another outfit. Though this is true, the character's default outfit isn't exclusive to that character either. Any other character can also wear it.
To create a new outfit, click the "New Outfit" button. To edit an existing outfit, click on the desired outfit from the list. Both buttons will take you to the page in which you can change the clothes of that scripted outfit. When creating a new outfit, keep in mind that this name will be used in your script to refer to that outfit, just as we learned with character names.
Once you are on the page of the outfit you would like to create/edit, scroll down to see all of the outfit asset options you can use. There are many different options to choose from, and filters you can apply to narrow down your search for an outfit piece. You may also search for outfit pieces by text in the text box on the right side.
To add an outfit piece to your outfit, click on the piece. All of the pieces of an outfit will be displayed at the top. To remove a piece, click on the 'X' button.
There are also some pieces that can be multiple different colors. These pieces will have a color wheel at the top left hand side of its box.
When you want to change a character's outfit, you may use the following syntax:
@CHARACTER changes into Outfit_Name
Keep in mind that whenever this line plays through, the character will automatically change. Make sure to place this line at the exact time that you want your character's to change outfits!
We create characters and outfits through the Character and Outfits pages, which you can navigate to from the "Characters" or "Outfits" button on your story's homepage
Characters and outfits are specific to stories. If you create a character or outfit in one story, neither will not transfer to another one of your stories
We currently have standard size and plus size female characters, male sex characters with body type options including transgender, horses, and dogs.
