With donacode, the Episode world is your oyster. Although we will only be going through the basics in this Beginner Course, the capabilities that donacode has expands much further than that. With donacode, you may:
Design and direct a scene with your chosen background, overlays, and characters
Add zooms and pans to these scenes for cinematic effect
Manipulate overlays to create an animated effect (ex. a motorcycle driving out or into a scene)
Add choices
Attach "gains" to choices which allow you to remember and call back to exact choices
Add weather effects to stimulate the seasons in a scene
Add props to characters and use animations to have them interact with it (ex. add a cupcake to a character and add an eating animation)
Change characters' outfits
Add music and sounds for cinematic effect
Use text effects on dialogue and narration to emphasize tone and feeling
Simulate a texting format on a phone
Use tappable overlays for visual choices or interactivity via touch
There are so many interesting ways that we can use donacode to make our stories come alive. As you progress through the basics of donacode, our goal is to get you prepared enough to get to an Intermediate and Advanced level of donacoding to easily implement all of the capabilities on this list.
